Hobo can confirm since hes got it already it seems, but you can choose between a fresh install (loose everything) or one where you can retain files (documents, videos, pictures).

When Windows tells you the update to 10 is available (or you force it to be available), just go through the steps to complete it. There's no data or settings loss. The only thing I had to reinstall were graphic drivers for Nvidia.

Considering Windows 8.1 outperforms and looks better than 7, i'm going to disagree with you. Whats so great about 7 (and dont say the start menu being gone. We've all heard that before).

Seems fine so far. GTA V seems to run a bit smoother. And they added multiple desktops

It needs to download 2699MB. Time depends on internet speed. I needed about 6-7 min to download.
