Read before posting (Updated: 11th Feb 2017)
« on: November 26, 2010, 06:27 »
Remember: "suggestions" means suggestions. This board is not for posting requests or demands. All threads are read by scripters, but we will reply only to few of them if needed. Ultimately it's up to Mick (server owner) whether new features will be added or not.

Before posting a suggestion, you should search for similar suggestions to yours in both 'suggestions' and 'locked & closed suggestions' boards. If you find a suggestion similar to yours which has been rejected, you should not repost the suggestion unless you feel your suggestion will be more complete than the old one.

When posting your suggestion, you should elaborate what the suggestion will do, how it will work, why should it be added and what are the possible advantages/disadvantages of the suggestion. Scripters and staff may reply to your suggestion to ask further questions about your suggestion if they cannot understand how your suggestion works, or there's an aspect of your suggestion which has been forgotten (like scamming in trading). Ultimately, it is the quality of your suggestion which will decide if it will be added or not.

Posting a reply of nothing but a quote is not adding to the topic. All posts after 11th Feb 2017 will be removed, and repeated use will get you warned. Please add to the suggestion, or use the poll the topic should have, if you can't be bothered replying.

You should add a poll to your suggestion with options "+1" and "-1". This allows other players to give their opinion on your suggestion quickly and gives scripters a representation of how many players like the suggestion.

Stay on topic. Off topic replies will be removed without notice
Use descriptive suggestion titles, like "Allow events to be created in-game" instead of "Suggestion" etc.

Replies to suggestions must be relevant to the suggestion. Replies with just "+1" or "-1" will be removed, you must explain why you like/dislike the suggestion, otherwise use topic's poll if available. Irrelevant replies will be removed too, so stay on-topic.

The following list contains suggestions which will NOT be added to server, and you must not repost these suggestions;
Click on a entry in the list to see explanation for why it will not be added.

Changing what side of the road players drive on (either everywhere or in certain areas)
Tuning trucks
Changing amount of server slots
Tow truck convoys
Prohibiting off-road driving with fines
Getting more pay for completing mission quickly
Multi-trailer mods
Helicopter that can attach vehicles
Any suggestion which will give VIP advantage over other players
Food, sleep and hunger systems
Staff suggestions (incl. new staff ranks like 'helper staff')
Weighing / ticket stations which are not operated by cops
Using the SA casino machines
Adding vehicles with weapons either for purchase or publicly spawned
Votekick / voteban systems
Characters other than letters in your custom rank
Requesting modifications to your property (like house and base)

Scripters may reply to your suggestion telling you if the suggestion has been rejected, is awaiting approval from Mick (large suggestions need to be approved), or suggestion will be available in next update. Scripters should refer to suggestion topic in pull request for easier overview when approving. Rejections should be accompanied with an explanation. Do not lock suggestion topic until approved / merged.

I've updated this to be much less restrictive.

Note that suggesting things that were on old list is allowed now, but it doesn't mean it will not be rejected. If you are going to suggest something on the old list, please elaborate your suggestion as much as possible.

In case you're wondering what bbcode allows the text to be collapsed, it's [texthide=Label]Content[/texthide].

I just want to state that although we don't seem to reply to your suggestion, we are quite aware of all suggestions in this board (I read this board every hour or two).

"All threads are read by scripters, but we will reply only to few of them if needed."

We cannot add stuff (especially big things) immediately into the gamemode, it requires a decent amount of planning for all new aspects that the feature(s) create.

Rushing features into the gamemode just doesn't work, okay?
