Title: Free Host
Post by: CarlJohnson on March 18, 2016, 16:53
Does anyone knows about any free host or vps service where I can host my test server so that my buddies can checkout my gamemode ?

PM me the details if you know about any :)

Do you have a steam profile, Carl? I have a friend who knows all about that stuff and could probably let you know about free domains and hosting or whatever else you need

There's really not that many "free" hosts for SA:MP. Probably a few VPS providers sure. But you're probably best home-hosting it.

I could home host it but I'm not sure how to port-forward...
I tried the tutorials on the internet but there isn't a option of port-forwarding like them on my router.
Can somebody help?

Depends on router, really. Might be worth asking your ISP directly. I've had my internet cut off since it was not being used in the "TOS" apparently a while ago. Plus it was being throttled to shit (.5 upload was terrible).

I'm now sat at 20 up so i'm happy.

1. Go on your internet explorer or Google Chrome.
2. Type http://192.168.0.1 (if you are using IE) or http://yourip (if you are using Google Chrome).
3. You will see your router login page.
4. Choose User: Admin Pass: whatever your pass is.
5. Go to Port Forwarding label
6. Choose the port you want to open, your PC internal IP and select the TCP and UDP options.

I could be more specific if you tell me which router you are using.

I'm Using ASUS DSL-N10E, anyway I needed to upgrade my router firmware to have port-forwarding options.
I now have port-forwarded my router for samp, but not sure if it works or not.
You can have a look at what I did, tell me if I'm wrong somewhere
