Title: About Elegy mods
Post by: Alan_Altuzarra on November 11, 2012, 20:20
Well, like the title says, this post will be about the Bad idea that is modding the Elegy.

The Elegy is known for its unique drifty handling, but some players that are starting with car mods have it as a primary target. If you're one of them, DON'T EVER mod it.

Why? Because most elegy mods affect its handling, sometimes even making it look glitchy for other players, and another reason is the fact that elegy is tuneable (One .dff less, and you're dead) and its original files are too hard, if not impossible to find without having to reinstall the game or replace gta3.img

This is intended to be a help to anyone who wants to mod the elegy. Choose your mods carefully and you'll have a better look on your SA. Don't do it and prepare to reinstall.

I hope this helps someone :D

I'm based on my experience with elegy mods (Yeah I modded it before) and other guys had the same problem. If you can make a mod for elegy that doesn't screw the handling, then you're awesome.

Lmao I have car mods for every single vehicle modded in Wheels Arch Angels and have no problems/opcodes, jsut copy and paste the original files into a backup folder using spark, and install teh modded parts/pj's with alci img editor, and there you go, mods installed and no problems. And if you are the kind of person that doesn't make backups then get GGMM, right click on the application of the car that you want to backup, and click on create backup, it's that easy. And if you need a new gta3.img look at my post here about a program called gtasaRecovery, to restore any file in GTA SA http://www.forum.convoytrucking.net/index.php/topic,31566.0.html (http://www.forum.convoytrucking.net/index.php/topic,31566.0.html)

Thanks but I backup my files, as I said, MOST of the elegy mods affect it badly, not every single one.

The only way I would think of the handling being affected by the mod would be if it was installed with a .exe but besides that you have manualy change the handling which is more work.

I never used .exe and don't change handling cause of many servers prohibiting it (like CVT) but still happened to me ???
